Summary
The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy is seeking an instructor to teach WRIT 1101: The Effective Writer in-person Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00-10:20am in the Spring 2025 Semester.

In WRIT 1101: The Effective Writer, students are introduced to the forms and conventions of college-level writing and to the varying expectations of different readers. As the first course in the university's composition sequence, WRIT 1101 establishes foundational skills that students can draw from when they encounter subsequent writing assignments in other courses, including writing intensive courses.

Experience with active learning techniques, instructional technology, and learning management systems (D2L Brightspace or others) are welcome. Compensation is based on the number of sections taught and is commensurate with degree and experience.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A Master's degree in English is required.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate composition courses is required, with preference given to candidates who have taught first-year composition as the instructor of record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in incorporating diversity, cultural competence, and social justice into teaching.
  • Experience using learning management systems (D2L Brightspace or equivalent) is preferred.
