We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Manager Aviation Climate Policy with our Climate Policy group based in Washington, DC.

The Manager Aviation Climate Policy will manage policy development and external engagement efforts related to our 1PointFive Direct Air Capture (DAC) business, focused on establishing carbon dioxide removal (CDR) alongside Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) as complementary pathways to net zero in aviation sector fuel and emissions policies. The position will play a key role within 1PointFive's aviation sector initiatives, coordinating closely with our aviation business development and product development teams at the global forefront of CDR in aviation. The position will also support Oxy's broader efforts in carbon management, working in collaboration with our Oxy Low Carbon Ventures, 1PointFive, and Carbon Engineering business units, and Government Relations, Regulatory, Legal, and Public Affairs groups.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
* Policy development and advocacy for carbon removal in aviation policies in U.S domestic and international jurisdictions.

* Collaboratively working with 1PointFive's broader aviation sector business development and product development teams to develop and advance aviation sector strategies.
* Proactively monitor, analyze, and develop proposed policies, regulations, and legislation, and assess potential impacts.
* Build and expand relationships with external stakeholders including NGOs, industry, legislative and executive government.
* Represent Oxy in trade association and stakeholder groups, and at external meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

Qualifications -

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or relevant field.
* Minimum of 7 years of relevant industry or policy experience.
* Experience in aviation climate or fuels policy, including familiarity with CORSIA and SAF policies.

* Experience engaging with relevant regulatory and industry organizations such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and International Air Transport Association (IATA).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to successfully work collaboratively in teams and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute strategic initiatives.
* Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

*Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements may receive consideration for higher-level role given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.
