Job Summary Under the supervision of the UCSF Fresno Office of Health Career Pathways (OHCP) Supervisor, the Program Development Coordinator will perform tasks related to maintaining the SJV-MedBridge (California Medical Scholars Program) program learning management system (LMS), analyzing programming outcomes related to UCSF Fresno's educational pathway programs, assist in developing improved advising practices focused on students' successful graduation from college and career readiness. Additionally, this role will provide support with reporting for funding deliverables to California Medicine Scholars Program (CMSP) Central Office. We are seeking a seasoned, experienced professional in K-14 academic preparation, who can independently work with assigned institutions and organizations to plan and implement a wide range of academic preparation programming focused on community college students. An ideal candidate will have experience working with community college students and health pathway learners from underrepresented and underserved communities in the San Joaquin Valley. The Program Development Coordinator will perform analysis and feedback data to aid with strategic planning and decision-making for the program's curricular implementation plan and accountability framework. This position will also provide additional support for SJV MedBridge programming endeavors and integral in decision making for future offerings and programming for learners through the assigned role. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Department Description UCSF Fresno is a regional campus of UCSF School of Medicine located in California's Central Valley and the Department of Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) is the administrative unit that oversees the Office of Health Career Pathways (OHCP). The OHCP was established to provide programs and services that lead to student academic success and exploration of research and health careers, as well as better coordinate and increase the success of existing health pathway programs at UCSF Fresno. UME provides services for 100 or more third year students from UCSF as well as 300 or more visiting 4th year medical students for clerkship rotations. UCSF Fresno has several accredited Residency & Fellowship programs under the auspices of Graduate Medical Education. The UCSF Fresno UME Office is responsible for implementation of all strategic directives for medical education at the Fresno campus and for ensuring that those who serve undergraduate students are actively engaged in the highest quality learning and teaching environment with a strong commitment to diversity and UCSF's PRIDE values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Three or more years of relevant experience
- Experience working with learners
- Knowledge of data collection, research and analysis techniques
- Strong knowledge of up-to-date information on higher education policies and issues
- Ability to assess their impact on program strategies
- Experience working within an LMS development and integration at a large scale
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and time management skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, Google Suites and databases
- Detail oriented, ability to work independently with flexible schedule and timelines with solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
- Understanding of rural and urban populations, first generation college student experiences, and underserved communities to create rapport and working relationships with learners, while also providing insight to realistic expectations
- Previous experience as a community college student or experience working with community college students from diverse backgrounds
- Understanding of the California Community College transfer process
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners, and ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns
- Ability to maintain good rapport and relationships with stakeholders
- Strong background in health pathway program design and participation
