Job Summary The Student Services Specialist, Sr. focuses on providing both direct student and Field of Interest (FOI) support: from advising students through a holistic caseload management approach via appts, proactive and responsive outreach, group advising, events, and the like; to collaborating with the Student Services Analyst on the planning, coordination, and facilitation of FOI campus relationships, projects, initiatives, events, trainings, and beyond. When/As needed, they may also share responsibility of more complex advising support tasks related to student and FOI processes. Essential Functions 70% - Provides holistic, proactive advising services to a caseload of students within a Field of Interest (FOI). Acts as an initial primary point of contact for students in the Field of Interest area. Responds to student inquiries regarding enrollment, registration, admissions, financial aid, tuition, scholarships, internships, grants, testing, new student orientation, graduation and other program information. Routinely performs more technically complex case-management style academic advising and initial independent problem-solving for a Field of Interest (FOI). Responsible for reviewing Course Applicability issues and processing Financial Aid forms including Consortium Agreement and Maximum Timeframe. Coordinates Course Applicability issues for the Field of Interest (FOI) under the supervision of Analyst. 15% - Coordinates, plans, and develops projects, events, and activities within the Field of Interest in collaboration with the Analyst. 10% - Lead trainer for the Field of Interest, educating other advisors as to the distinct differences of each major and the course requirements that are unique to each program. 5% - Acts as a backup for Field of Interest Analyst including facilitating 4DX meetings, attending Analyst Meetings, delegating workflow to the team and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs. -OR- An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
