Your Title: Technical Product Owner

Job Location: Westminster, CO | Hybrid

Our Department: SketchUp

If you've ever used SketchUp, you know it's special software: 3D modeling that's easy to learn, intuitive to use, and accessible to everyone. Try it out for free at app.sketchup.com and browse millions of free models at 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com.

What You Will Do

As a Product Owner of the SketchUp 3D Warehouse backend, you'll be working to both refine and re-imagine how we deliver millions of 3D models to our customers all over the world. We're looking for someone who is highly skilled, highly motivated and eager to learn more -- and pretty low-key about it all. You will be working together with multiple front-end and application teams that depend on the platform and you need to be able to balance and reconcile requirements from several stakeholders. Embedded directly in a highly skilled scrum team, you will guide the team with your understanding of both customer needs and engineering practices at scale. You thrive on in-depth technical discussions with your engineering team; perhaps your strength is your previous background in software development. Your vision will shape the future of the platform.

  • Conduit between business & technical teams (aligns business & development).

  • Transform business requirements into API specifications and technical platform requirements.

  • Define and own the roadmap for the 3D Warehouse Platform team.

  • Drive the breakdown of large solution requirements into an executable backlog.

  • Collaborate with other Product Owners, Product Managers, and Leadership to align on future product enhancements in the formation of a roadmap.

  • Engage with customer experience, SMEs, and customers to understand workflows and extrapolate requirements.

  • Refine requirements with the team and accept completed work.

  • Responsible for the health and prioritization of the product backlog based on business priorities, events and dependencies with other teams.

  • Work closely with the engineering team to deliver new product features and capabilities (member of the agile delivery team).

  • Communicate priority and delivery goals to ensure alignment with Leadership.

  • Actively participates in scrum team meetings and is always available to answer team questions.

  • Coordinates with other Product Owners, scrum teams, and shared services to ensure delivery success.

  • Provide support and training to other Trimble staff on product use and technical product details.

  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to ensure cross functional teams are aligned and prepared for product release.

  • Participate in industry trade associations, technical working groups, seminars, etc.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • 3+ years' experience in a product development environment.

  • Product Manager, Product Owner, or software developer experience.

  • Confidence in communicating with business and technical stakeholders.

  • Understanding of RESTful API design patterns and modem web service best practices.

  • Ability to maintain long term vision while meeting delivery goals.

  • Technical aptitude and experience working with development teams.

  • Demonstrate strong problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or engineering or a related field.

  • Experience, or at least understanding, of agile.

  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
