POSITION SUMMARY:

Seize the opportunity to lead and innovate as Brown University Health's Director Healthcare AI Strategy Innovation and Implementation where you will have the extraordinary chance to build and shape our new AI Center of Excellence from the ground up. Reporting to the Brown University Health Vice President/Chief Medical Information Officer and Senior Vice President/Chief Information Officer and collaborating with our Chief Medical Officers Chief Nursing Officers and key departmental leaders including Finance Human Resources and Supply Chain you will drive the creation and execution of groundbreaking AI initiatives. Your vision and leadership will ensure that Brown University Health remains at the forefront of healthcare innovation leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies predictive analytics and generative AI to deliver an unparalleled healthcare experience for our users and patients.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Pioneer Innovation: Develop and execute visionary strategic and tactical plans to establish and operate Brown University Health's new AI Center of Excellence aligning with Brown University Health*s overarching goals and integrating global AI trends in medicine and healthcare operations into daily workflows.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with senior operational and clinical leadership to synchronize the Center's objectives with Brown University Health's clinical and business priorities. Develop and operationalize a robust governance framework.
  • AI Advocacy: Champion the clinical and non-clinical applications of predictive analytics generative AI and other AI-driven processes. Stay at the forefront of industry best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure the deployment of fair appropriate valid effective and safe (FAVES) AI solutions.
  • Team Building: Establish and lead Brown University Health's AI Center of Excellence supervising an elite AI team within the Clinical Informatics division. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and payor requirements.
  • Guidance and Expertise: Guide operational departments on AI best practices focusing on designing selecting developing deploying and monitoring AI models that deliver optimal economic value operational efficiencies and unbiased clinical care enhancements.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with other healthcare systems public and private agencies and governmental groups to synergize Brown University Health*s AI initiatives with similar missions.

QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATION:

Master*s or Ph.D. in Computer Science Data Science or Healthcare Informatics.

QUALIFICATIONS-EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a health system including at least two years in an AI analytics or related role. Experience should be in a diverse operationally complex organization similar to Brown University Health.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations regulations and administrative and/or patient care processes is preferred.
  • Proven project leadership experience with a successful track record solving complex business problems leading to on-time project completion is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.

SUPERVISION:

Daily supervision of a senior clinical informatics and data scientist.
