The School of Arts and Sciences ( SAS) is the largest academic unit at Rutgers University and the center of the undergraduate experience on the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus and is comprised of 41 academic departments spanning the liberal arts.
SAS offers more than 100 majors and minors across the life sciences, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and mathematical and physical sciences with research centers and institutes across the school. Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Unit Admin/Specialist Casual for the Department of Latino and Caribbean Studies within the School of Arts and Sciences. This position will provide administrative support for a grant funded program.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Provides Administrative support for a grant funded program.
  • Communicates and collaborates with numerous individuals to maintain involvement in all facets of the project, Interface with Program, Department and SAS administrators.
  • Manages work study students.
  • Assists with payroll, payment processing, and reimbursement in the Rutgers Cornerstone system and is responsible to follow Rutgers policy while processing those duties.
  • Tracks expenses in grant tracking system.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two years relevant experience in an administrative function.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Computer literacy with knowledge of Teams, Joomla, WordPress, Excel, Google Docs, and Zoom.
  • Must be able to speak, write and read in Spanish.
  • Individual must have great communication skill and be able to communicate with collaborators in both English and Spanish.
