About this Opportunity |
The Ball State University Housing department has an opening for a 3rd shift part time night staff security specialist.. This position works to provide a secure living environment for people living in university residential areas and works with student night staff workers to enforce guest and other policies related to residence hall functions. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys evening hours to provide a secure environment for people living in University residential areas . A .70/hour third shift premium will be added to the base wage. |

Position Function |

Minimum Education |
Associate's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent. |
Minimum Experience |
One through three years of experience in industrial mechanics, security or residential living; possess and maintain a valid driver's license; possess good communication skills. |
Minimum Other |
Physical ability to walk around/through buildings and across campus, including up and down of eight flights of stairs or more. |
Authorization to work in the US |
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. |
Preferred Education |
Associate's degree in industrial mechanics or security. |
Preferred Experience |
At least one year of supervisory experience with college population. |

Secure various residential areas on campus; includes checking and securing doors, making rounds, and walking buildings. Work with student night staff who are checking in residents and guests during the overnight hours. |

Support the night shift team in conducting regular fire extinguisher checks, camera system checks, and floor call boxes. Reporting any outstanding issues to the appropriate team members for resolution. Work with the team to conduct regular, year-round door checks and building walk-throughs. Assist in providing breaks to team members as needed. |
