About the College/Unit/Department
The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources is a professional school with world class research, teaching, and outreach programs in natural resources conservation and is committed to inclusive excellence. The Warnell School is comprised of 68 faculty, 100 support staff, 265 undergraduates, and 240 graduate students (www.warnell.uga.edu). The School offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Forest Resources, Master of Natural Resources, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in the areas of Forestry; Fisheries & Wildlife; Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management; and Natural Resource Management & Sustainability. The School manages over 17,000 acres of forestland across the state in support of its teaching, outreach, and research missions.

Candidates must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of extension, teaching, and applied research interests (totaling less than three pages), unofficial transcripts of all college-level work, copies of up to three recent publications, and contact information for three references. Applicants are encouraged to provide a portfolio highlighting their use of innovative communication strategies/tools to convey scientific information to diverse audiences. Individuals selected as finalists will be asked to submit official college transcripts to ofatranscripts@uga.edu. Letters of reference will be solicited by the search chair for finalists prior to interviews. University policy requires all candidates to consent to a background investigation ( www.hr.uga.edu). Finalists will be required to provide a signed consent form authorizing the University to conduct a background check ( www.hr.uga.edu). The background investigation will be conducted on a post-offer/pre-employment basis. The start date is negotiable but August 1st, 2025 is preferred. All applicants MUST apply online.
