Job Summary

In coordination with the NCCC Leadership Team, the Clinician Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the NCCC clinician engagement initiatives including but not limited to campaign-based promotion, digital marketing, and social media.

This position has the opportunity to help solidify internal processes and contribute to innovative engagement and outreach strategies on a team that values (measured) experimentation, innovation, and results. The incumbent will be responsible for developing practice and clinician engagement strategies that increase the use of NCCC services.

The incumbent will serve as a communications and dissemination link between the NCCC and external stakeholders including with the National AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) Support Center (NASC) and eight regional centers that make up the AETC Program, as well as with the project officers of federal and state funding agencies, and potential funders. This role ensures a cohesive presentation of the NCCC to the outside world, serving as the communications specialist for the unit by writing and editing internal and external communications such as marketing pieces, publications/presentations, website copy, and other enduring content.

The incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation of an editorial calendar for the NCCC website and social media, as well as external publications/presentation commitments. The ideal candidate must be quick on their feet, sensitive to diverse needs and varied considerations across unique audiences, and be able to manage multiple project timelines. The incumbent must be extremely detail-oriented and possess a keen eye and ear for detail, and a passion for our mission. This individual should be highly organized, capable of working independently, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $55,700 - $118,500 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC) at the Department of Family & Community Medicine (FCM) provides immediate, state-of-the-art HIV/AIDS-related clinical consultation to health care providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists and other health care professionals) across the country through six telephone and online consultation services: * HIV/AIDS Management Consultation Service (Warmline): 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST * Post-Exposure Prophylaxis Consultation Service (PEPline): 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST * Perinatal HIV Consultation and Referral Service: 24/7 * Hepatitis C Consultation Service: 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST * Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Consultation Service (PrEPline): 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST * Substance Use Warmline: 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, and/or related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Minimum of one year of related experience
  • Thorough analytical and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of communication principles, media, and engagement techniques.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field
  • A diplomatic approach to work and communication and an ability to easily establish credibility among a wide variety of stakeholders (non-governmental, academic, and policy communities)
  • Knowledge of the campus and / or medical center, including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives and infrastructure
  • Knowledge of the campus and / or medical center products and services.
  • Experience working in a health care setting
  • Experience acting as liaison to public health programs (including both governmental and non-governmental) and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Previous grant writing experience.
  • WordPress experience.
  • HTML experience.
