PAINTER

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Sand blast to acceptable industry standards
  • Safely operate spray coating equipment to industrial and commercial standards
  • Safely operate air tools, pressure feed tanks, and airless pumps
  • Brush and roll industrial and commercial coatings
  • Perform corrosion control on carbon steel/ stainless steel using pneumatic air tools, needle guns, and scalers
  • Safely operate aerial platforms, forklifts, and heavy equipment
  • Operate, clean and maintain all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc.
  • Work with contractors daily to ensure SpaceX standards are being met
  • Work on all levels and finishes of sheetrock work and repairs


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of industrial painting experience


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:



  • 5+ years of industrial painting experience or corrosion control experience
  • Experience with NACE, MSDS, and EPA regulation codes or industry standards
  • Understanding of heavy equipment safety standards
  • Familiarity with paint processes, applications and product knowledge
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Self-motivated individual able to work independently or in a team environment and willing to learn


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Able to lift 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to work at elevated heights (up to 300 feet), including the use of ladder
  • Willing to operate heavy machinery
  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain, ice
  • Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
  • Must have a valid driver's license as this position will drive a company vehicle while onsite
  • Must be available to work overtime hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Painter/Level 1: $20.00/hour
Painter/Level 2: $23.00/hour
Painter/Level 3: $27.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
