Job Summary:
The Coordinator, Construction is responsible for coordinating construction projects within Mary Washington Healthcare, which includes managing contractors, regulatory requirements, utility outages, and risk assessments.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Plans and coordinates construction projects from start to finish.
- Ensures projects meet all regulatory compliance requirements.
- Performs walk-through and other checks to ensure ongoing projects meet safety and cleanliness standards.
- Creates and updates construction project timelines and communicates project details and timing information to appropriate building tenants and the construction vendors.
- Prepares, sets-up, and maintains an electronic record of day-to-day operating costs for construction projects; including utilities, supplies and labor.
- Manages and tracks construction budget for assigned projects.
- Responsible for managing the impact and/or disruption that construction projects have on departments, energy processes within the building(s), and other utilities and fire protection systems.
- Audits and maintains construction project related supplies; including warehouse stock, blue print index, manufacturer library, filing system, and all other project related department records.
- Serves as the day-to-day contact person for construction vendors.
- Ensures that vendors meet all regulatory and cleanliness requirements and have appropriate accesses to building and facilities.
- Reviews projects for possible value engineering and cost savings options, while maintaining energy efficiencies and a high level of quality.
- Makes recommendations of vendors for construction projects, maintains a list of disqualified vendors, and ensures all vendors selected for projects are appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certified Healthcare Constructor, preferred.
- Acceptable driving record, a valid driver's license, and meet the criteria for Mary Washington Healthcare's Driver Suitability required.
- Leadership experience required.
- Experience with reading and understanding construction documents.
- Knowledge of all phases of construction projects.
- Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, AutoCAD or Revit, and any construction management software, preferred.
- Experience in the healthcare and/or commercial construction management field preferred.
