Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The Department of English, located in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Fayetteville State University, offers programs and curricula that explore the relationship among language, literature, history, culture, and new media. We offer four undergraduate concentrations and three graduate certificate programs, including a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with a Teaching/Licensure concentration, a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with a Pre-Law concentration, a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with Creative and Professional Writing, a graduate certificate in Professional Writing, Teaching of Writing and English as a Second Language. We aim to increase faculty diversity, innovative research, and culturally relevant curriculum and mentorship through increased engagement and collaboration across campus and in partnership with the Pre-Law Society on issues of antiracism and diversity. Description of Work Continued:
Primary Purpose of the Position:

The fixed-term lecturer position is a non-tenure-track, nine-month appointment. The fixed-term lecturer is expected to teach courses in English and Humanities, develop and teach new courses, advise/mentor students, and serve on department, college, and university committees. The fixed-term lecturer is expected to teach courses in whatever modality is needed (on-campus, online, virtual). The fixed-term lecturer is expected to complete a faculty teaching orientation offered by the Office of Faculty Development in compliance with the NC- SARA (National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements) requirements.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
An earned MA or PhD in English from an accredited institution
