Duties and Responsibilities
The Internal Communications and Events Specialist develops creative communications tactics and organizes targeted events to enhance internal engagement among students, staff, and faculty and to increase the visibility of community-building initiatives across the Quinlan School of Business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Plans, executes, and implements internal communications and marketing initiatives (email campaigns, graphic design pieces, electronic newsletters, and other forms of messaging) to spread awareness of opportunities at Quinlan among current faculty, staff, and students.
* Following guidance set out by University Marketing and Communications, develops templates for emails, flyers, and PowerPoint display slides and other attractively designed materials that can build capacity and ensure quality in colleagues' internal communications efforts.
* Acts as a representative of the Quinlan brand, ensuring its accurate use in internal communications materials and special events.
* Contributes to efforts to raise Quinlan's undergraduate and graduate rankings by identifying audiences for communications efforts, researching content for rankings communications, and supporting colleagues who develop the communication products for these audiences.
* Maintains up-to-date mailing and contact lists for rankings communications.
* Leads or assists with the planning and execution of several annual large-scale, public-facing Dean's office events that raise Quinlan's visibility in the outside world, such as conferences that are open to audiences beyond the university.
* Ensures that internal communications from Quinlan, including student and department newsletters, are tailored to their faculty, staff, and student audiences and meet the highest possible standard for excellence in text and visuals.
* Pursues internal communications initiatives that build lasting connections between students and Quinlan and that encourage students to remain at Quinlan for more than one degree.
* Maintains the school's in-house Digital Media Lab (anticipated launch by mid-2025); promotes its use by faculty, staff, and students; chooses outside vendors to edit audio and video content produced there; and ensures accurate payment for all selected vendors.
* Coordinates with the University Marketing and Communication team members assigned to Quinlan to share content, develop webpages, and expand the reach of internal communications.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree required. Academic study in marketing, communication, English, design, or another related discipline is preferred. Minimum of two years of work experience in communications and marketing.
Qualifications
* Strong writing, editing, and graphic design skills, particularly the ability to produce compelling email and other communications on tight deadlines.
* Experience with marketing and communications platforms (e.g., MailChimp) is preferred.
* High-energy, creative, problem-solving approach, including the ability to come up with the bright idea that others might not.
* An understanding of the communications needs and preferences of university audiences, including students, faculty, and staff.
* Experience with event planning, event management, and event marketing.
* Ability to shift hours occasionally to support select external events that are in this position's portfolio, especially if those events are held in the evening or on weekends.
