Full Time; 1st Shift; 7:00am-3:30pm

Bettendorf; IA

Under general supervision performs professional duties in the application of Diagnostic Radiology services. Demonstrates proficiency in performing all Radiology Exams, administration of contrast media, and other related patient care services.

Responsibilities

Job Performance

  • Demonstrates competency in the operation of radiology equipment, including C-arm, portable, general radiographic, fluoroscopic and other devices used to obtain radiographic images.
  • Demonstrates competency in preparing patients for procedures and the administration of contrast media.
  • Correctly performs all prescribed Radiology procedures in an efficient manner.
  • Is able to work independently and critique exams.
  • Utilizes good judgment to plan effectively and solve problems.
  • Is cognizant of radiation safety to self and others.
  • Demonstrates competency in the storage and transfer of exams.

Patient Care

  • Provides patient education and ensures correct consent forms are signed.
  • Demonstrates competence in the administration of age-appropriate care.
  • Obtains and records adequate patient history and interprets physician's orders correctly.
  • Correctly orders, tracks and charges exams in a timely fashion.

Quality Improvement

  • Assures that equipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctions to the campus Lead.
  • Logs in technical information, completes reports and surveys, and complies with all regulatory agencies.
  • Completes Occurrence Reports as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology with equivalent training and experience as required by the licensing bodies.

Experience: 1-2 years in General Radiology. Previous Radilogic Technologist experience preffered.

License(s)/Certification(s): Registry eligible team members who have obtained a state of Illinois Temporary License may perform duties in Illinois but must be registered by The Iowa Department of Public Health. (IDPH) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography within 90 days of their first day of employment and obtain a permanent license with the State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) within one year of their first day of employment. Current CPR Certification.
