PAY RANGE - $95K to $121K

Shift - Monday to Friday

The Quality Control Engineer Supervisor is a highly skilled and experienced position that will ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of measurement systems, instruments, and processes. This role will be responsible for providing technical assistance on inspection systems, methods, and processes to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Engineer Supervisor will assign tasks, check work, and maintain staffing and production schedules as well as manage inspection programmers and dimensional/visual inspectors. Reports to the Quality Manager.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Metrology, Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. OR 7 years of experience in metrology or quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

* Strong understanding of metrology principles, standards, and methodologies.

* Excellent written or oral communication skills.

* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment.

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills

* Ability to work well with team members and members of other departments at various levels.

* Intermediate level SAP or ERP experience, strong MS Office skills

* Eligible to work in an ITAR environment.

* Ability to pass a background check and drug test

* 20/20 unaided or corrected vision

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and coordinate the inspection lab activities, including workload assignment, training, and performance management. Develop staff through training and mentoring.
  • Ensure compliance with metrology procedures & best practices for inspection processes.
  • Perform complex calibrations and measurements and provide technical expertise and guidance to staff as needed.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to determine inspection & equipment requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, and engineering, to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement metrology procedures, protocols, and work instructions to ensure consistency and accuracy of inspection processes.
  • Assist in maintaining metrology/inspection equipment, documentation, maintenance logs, and equipment specifications.
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives to enhance metrology/inspection processes, techniques, and efficiency for production.
  • Stay current with advancements in metrology technology, standards, and regulations through training and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Be the inspection subject matter expert (SME) on drawing review, new equipment evaluation, etc. for production support.
  • Support calibration analysis and gauge R&R of measurement devices.
  • Enable environmental & process controls for micron & sub-micron measurement ability.


Skills and Qualifications:



  • Strong technical expertise in metrology principles, standards, and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T - ASME Y14.5, ISO 9001, and other industry related standards and specifications.
  • Strong ability to program optical comparators and coordinate measurement machines (CMM) in a variety of different programing languages.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a metrology or related field.
  • Proficiency in using metrology equipment and software, as well as statistical analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions. Maintain flexibility, listen, and respond in manner to convey data clearly and informatively to non-technical personnel both internally and externally.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, precision, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
