The purpose of the Clinical Social Worker (MSW) position is to provide both direct patient care to patients and families and assist in the coordination of team delivered services. The Clinical Social Worker will complete a psychosocial assessment; develop treatment plans that are congruent with the overall health care plan; provide psychosocial intervention; educate patients, their family members, staff and social work students; facilitate compliance with treatment; work with the community to provide needed services; and coordinate discharge planning activities. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: This ambulatory adult oncology clinical social worker will join the team of Care Coordination and the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center to support patients directly who are living with various types of cancers. This team member will support patients in adjusting to the diagnosis, identifying and addressing social drivers of health and/or financial barriers to care, as well as engaging patients and their healthcare decision makers in quality advance care planning discussions. This new team member will work within a team of social workers that all support different clinical teams within Massey and across the service line. This specific team member will work directly with the GI, GU, Sarcoma and Cutaneous, as well as rare cancer clinical teams. It is expected that this team member will be on site and in person Mon-Fri during normal business hours, with no on-call or weekend hours required. Business casual attire is expected.
