This position is on site at our Cullowhee campus.
This is a temporary, part-time position. Responsibilities include providing intakes, individual and group counseling, emergency services, case management, and clinical consultations for Western Carolina University students. |
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position |
The Counselor will provide mental health services for
WCU students. The Counselor will require knowledge and skill in providing assessments to determine diagnosis and treatment plan for clients and in ongoing individual and group counseling. The Counselor will need to have skills to assist students who are managing mental health emergencies. This position does require knowledge and skill in diversity informed practice for our university population. |
Minimum Qualifications |
Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work. Must have an active license to practice in the state of North Carolina. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Previous experience in a college counseling center or experience working with the young adult population. We seek candidates that can demonstrate their experiences in working with diverse students and faculty and staff. |
