Responsibilities

The selected candidate will have technical expertise in which practices and processes are followed and applied to intelligence collection operations. The Mission Engineer and Integrator (ME&I) ensures that proper practices and processes are applied to operations from needs definition, analysis of the appropriate solution, integration/verification/validation, and through operations execution. Tasks shall include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist Sponsor personnel in reviewing, defining, and clarifying operational requirements.
  • Analyze targets and collection requirements to identify appropriate technologies, capabilities, systems, and equipment to meet requirements.
  • Support the generation of, and updates to, concept of operations.
  • Provide operational input to the development of new systems, capabilities, and equipment.
  • Provide tradecraft recommendations and best practices during operations planning.
  • Ensure technical and operational constraints are communicated and addressed as part of operational planning and execution.
  • Perform trade studies from testing and evaluation, lessons learned, new intelligence gained, and/or operational feedback and provide recommendations for system modifications and upgrades.
  • Support the development of operational procedures to include identification of mission contingencies and system troubleshooting.
  • Provide recommendations with respect to end-to-ed system capability gaps affecting usability and operability of systems.
  • Support pre-deployment check out of systems and equipment.
  • Support deployment of collection systems and equipment.
  • Perform post deployment performance monitoring and troubleshooting of deployed systems and equipment and provide recommendations to response performance issues.

The ME&I may be required to travel to other locations within the WMA. The ME&I will be subject to an additional security review process requirement that may take up to 6 weeks.


Qualifications

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2 in engineering, or Computer/Physical Science. Equivalent work experience in a technical field.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience providing operational engineering support to a government organization focused on bolstering the Government's intelligence advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing mission engineering and integration services for a government customer.
  • Expertise and skills to provide intelligence collection operations planning and execution capabilities.
  • Ability to apply operational methodologies to requirements.
  • Experience applying systems engineering methodologies and processes.
  • Strong analytical abilities and skills in organizing, planning, communicating, and executing project management tasks.
  • Experience performing feasibility and vulnerability studies.
  • Expertise in requirements development, verification and traceability.
  • Ability to translate technical information and communicate it to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize tasks, solve problems, work several tasks concurrently, and efficiently manage a high volume of email, develop fluency with online tracking tools rapidly and effectively.
  • Proven ability to work independently while also coordinating, collaborating, and liaising with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ability develop and maintain positive working relationships with officers at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated good judgment, initiative, and critical thinking ability to take action to execute mission by leveraging networks and drawing on multiple areas of expertise.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and follow through.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Sponsor's field and/or operations certifications.
  • Technical master's degree
  • Language capabilities preferred
