Position Summary
The Clinical Value Analysis Specialist (CVAS) utilizes clinical knowledge to perform highly complex analyses which include researching and identifying sourcing opportunities and determining ways to find financial value in all areas of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC). The CVAS performs cost-benefit analyses and ROI calculations to reveal the Total Cost of Ownership in all purchasing department projects while considering clinical efficacy and safety. The CVAS provides clinical support and overall guidance to the health system Value Analysis Program, which encompasses the new product evaluation process and new technology request process. The CVAS facilitates and manages health system value analysis teams in the evaluation of new clinical products and provides support for strategic sourcing projects to help reduce the health systems overall supply chain expenses. The CVAS is responsible for analyzing current product usage and cost against member/client contracts and benchmarking with national data. The CVAS works collaboratively with the Sourcing Team to determine contract penetration, calculates market share, and recommends areas for cost reduction through standardization, substitution, and utilization through contract maximization. The CVAL provides whole picture clinical and financial analysis to senior executives that allows for the full financial impact of process and product changes to be considered while also considering clinical impact. The CVAL facilitates and controls the agenda for Value Analysis Meetings.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelors degree in nursing, business, healthcare, or relevant field and 2 years of works experience in nursing, healthcare, or relevant field.
