The Billing Integrity Liaison is responsible for supporting research on regulatory requirements to ensure accurate and compliant billing. The Billing Integrity Liaison will collaborate with compliance, clinical and ancillary stakeholders to advise on building new services and departments as well as ensuring the appropriate Epic IT builds are in place.
Job Responsibilities
- Acts as a billing compliance resource for Single Billing Office (SBO), Revenue Integrity, Compliance, Physician Group, Hospital Outpatient Provider-Based Departments (HOPD) leaders and others as directed, using all the resources necessary to research and provide a compliant answer to all questions. Situations may include but are not limited to: charging guidelines; billing guidelines, and/or appropriate use of CPT, HCPCS, Revenue Codes, Modifiers.
- Collaborates with SBO, Revenue Integrity, Compliance, HOPD and other leaders on opening new or making changes to an existing hospital department to include the Epic IT initial build or changes to existing build, adding new services, location changes, etc., as directed.
- Collaborate with SBO, Revenue Integrity, Compliance, Professional Group and other leaders on opening new freestanding facilities/clinics to include the Epic IT initial build or changes for new groups, new services, location changes, etc., as directed.
- Research recurrent denials as directed and collaborate with the Revenue Integrity, SBO, Compliance, Physician Group, HOPD and other leaders to resolve.
- Attend and participate in meetings that pertain to your job duties. May be asked to facilitate or act as scribe and report meeting details to participants.
- May perform additional duties as assigned
Additional Requirements
Experience - 5 years of heath care billing/charge roles Education - Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of applicable experience
