The Arizona Student Unions is looking for talented part-time Alcohol Servers to join our team. YOUR ROLE As a part-time Alcohol Server in the Catering Department, you will greet guests, answer questions about alcohol, recommend menu items, and prepare/serve beverages. Your responsibilities include creating drink recipes, using proper equipment and ingredients, and handling basic cleaning duties. An engaging and friendly personality is essential, as well as being efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Welcoming guests, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders. Reviewing event details prior to event start time to ensure product is in place and prepared for service. Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to guest.
- Checking identification to ensure guests are the legal age to purchase alcohol. Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bars are well stocked. Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations. Handles customer complaints, actively resolves internal problems wherever possible, and follows through with necessary actions and effective communication.
- Handling cash, credit, debit card, and meal plan transactions; ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons. Balancing the cash register. Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment. Ensure safe handling of food, alcohol and equipment.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Skills in understanding bartender tools and techniques.
- Skilled in problem solving.
- Ability to effectively communicate with department managers, team members, and guest.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to transport/move a maximum of 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Title 4 Alcohol Server Certification or ability to obtain prior to serving alcohol and within 30 days of hire.
