Position Highlights The College of Social & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Recruitment Coordinator (Recruitment Professional II) to work on the Student Services Team. The Recruitment Coordinator is dedicated to the recruitment of undergraduate, main campus students for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Additionally, this position supervises our team of 20-25 student ambassadors and represents the College of SBS at various main campus and off-campus recruitment events. Reporting to the Director of Recruitment, this position will be a member of the Academic Affairs and Student Success team in SBS Administration. The position works directly with University of Arizona Admissions and the SBS Marketing and Communications teams, as well as faculty and staff leadership in SBS academic units offering undergraduate main campus programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Recruiting:

  • Represents College of SBS at recruitment events in coordination with the University of Arizona's Office of Admissions at all main campus and off-campus recruitment events (college fairs, college sessions, etc.)
  • Supports the planning and implementation of recruitment activities and strategies to cultivate and recruit prospective applicants for all main campus SBS undergraduate programs
  • Organizes and participates in communications and marketing to promote SBS programs
  • Counsels and advises prospective SBS students and parents on educational planning, scholarships, and student engagement opportunities
  • Supports data-driven recruitment efforts (call campaigns, mailing campaigns, etc.)
  • Serves as a liaison and primary contact between prospective undergraduate students and the College of SBS
  • Conducts information sessions for prospective and admitted students
  • Travels to target high schools and community colleges to represent SBS at various off-campus recruitment events.
  • Remains informed of national trends in recruiting and career paths/job markets
  • Updates best practices/materials/tool-kit for SBS departments related to undergraduate student recruitment and outreach
  • Co-advises the SBS Student Ambassador program, manages applications, staffs recruitment events, assists with training, participates in meetings, etc.
  • Coordinates with academic advisors to promote double major plans of study
  • Recommend potential new degree programs based on market demands and interest.
  • Helps coordinate college participation in specialized recruitment events (Admitted Student Day, Flinn Finalist visit, etc.)

SBS Ambassadors:

  • Advises the SBS Student Ambassador program, including call for applications, scheduling/assignments, training, meetings, etc.
  • Advises and mentors executive board members, communicates recruitment needs and tracks member participation
  • Works with SBS Marketing and Communications team to keep ambassador page updated and coordinates ambassador participation in social media campaigns
  • Promotes and coordinates use of SBS Student Lounge
  • Other duties as assigned

Involves local travel throughout year, and occasional evening and weekend work for recruiting purposes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of recruitment principles, theories and concepts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups / individuals.
  • Skilled in public speaking and presenting to groups
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and track multiple tasks, people, and projects
  • Excellent customer service skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advances learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
