Lead Navigator Research Specialist II

Nature of Work

This position includes work on a federally funded grant designed to plan, implement and evaluate a sexual risk avoidance prevention education program. The person in this position will work on a grant team at the Missouri Institute of Mental Health and perform coordination and support activities.

  • Performs professional technical project tasks and participates in a variety of research procedures.
  • Possesses a broad understanding of the job.
  • Understands how own and related teams coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve objectives.
  • Research information, collects data, and prepares analyses/reports as directed.
  • Provides solutions to problems based on practice and existing precedents or procedures.
  • Impacts the team's results through the quality and effectiveness of own work.
  • Explains information to and within the team, noting improvements, efficiencies etc. to manager/supervisor and/or appropriate team member.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Navigation services to link project participants to care via assessment and referrals.
  • Provide follow-up to ensure project participants are engaged and retained in services and in the program intervention.
  • Manage/Oversee a Community Health Distribution Hub.
  • Recruit, Engage, and Retain Project Partners & Stakeholders
  • Provide oversight of recruitment data and manage recruitment analysis.
  • Recruit and collect data on organizations to provide captive audiences for program interventions.
  • Assist with curricula facilitation.
  • Assist with data collection and data entry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Shift

8am - 5pm; M-F

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred with a minimum of two years' experience working with minority populations, prevention programs and communities of color
  • Applies skills and knowledge in a variety of processes, procedures and systems throughout the research function.
  • Experience in community-based case management, program development and implementation.
  • Experience working with minority populations.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the needs of at-risk youth.
  • Knowledgeable of community resources and services related to HIV and substance use.
  • Excellent verbal, written and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good facilitation skills.
  • Ability to take initiative with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work in close collaboration with other team members and project partners.
  • Computer efficacy in Microsoft office, internet usage and database experience.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules that could include evenings and weekends.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $18.50 - $26.34 per hour
