Position Highlights |
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (CBC) at the University of Arizona invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor starting in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment within CBC and will have strong opportunities to collaborate with numerous Centers of Excellence across multiple Colleges. We seek candidates with a research and education program in analytical chemistry, broadly defined. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring at both undergraduate and graduate levels and to an inclusive climate supporting diverse students, trainees, staff, and colleagues. Candidates will be expected to establish a vigorous and sustainable research program demonstrated by an excellent track record of creative research accomplishments and external funding. Preference will be given to candidates with a potential to collaborate and participate in activities on campus that meet the strategic goals of the University. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Establish and maintain a vigorous, productive and nationally and internationally recognized research program.
- Teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels and contribute to innovation in curricular development in the broad areas of analytical chemistry and measurement science.
- Mentor students in a culturally responsive manner.
- Participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college, and university service.
- Develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement and expanding collaborations with community and business partners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellence in measurement science research and education.
- Ability to attract external funding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, or a closely related field.
|
Preferred Qualifications |
- Post-doctoral research experience.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring students.
- Experience in obtaining external research funding.
- Established experience in working with diverse communities.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
