JOB TYPE Classification: Nonexempt Supervises Positions: No JOB SUMMARY Performs echocardiography studies, TEES, Stress ECHOs. Recognizes, calculates, interprets, and analyzes the hemodynamic data served from echocardiography studies. Patient Care: Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
Compliance: Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required.
Teamwork: Works within a team to achieve patient and team goals.
Technical Competency: Follows routine standards and properly and safely manipulates equipment, within its limitations, to obtain images.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: 2 Year/Associate's Degree preferred. Graduate of an accredited Echocardiography school or the equivalent in experience. Experience: 2 years of Echocardiography experience preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: New graduates of a two-year program must be registered within 12 months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)' age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient(s)' requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Considerable verbal ability to effectively communicate observations and input to nursing staff, physicians, and other department staff. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical Demand Code: 17A, Medical Technician, Other Techs Work Function/Activity: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand The job requires constant sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
