Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a hybrid, full-time long-term assignment (approximately 18 months) to support our client in Bridgman, MI. The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a team of engineers and designers, focusing on modification packages and analyses of mechanical systems. In this role, you will exercise sound judgment in assessing complex issues, preparing mechanical designs, and coordinating interdisciplinary teams and vendors to complete projects on schedule and within budget.

Job Details/Essential Job Functions:




  • Complete complex engineering assignments including preparation of packages that include preparation of specifications and data sheets, calculations, and modifications to existing plant drawings.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions.
  • Review vendor drawings.
  • Interfacewithplantstakeholderstodetermineprojectscope/requirements.
  • Supportconstruction, implementationandstart upactivities.
  • Review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliancewith codes and designdata.
  • Coordinate theeffortsofthe groupwith otherdiscipline groupson thesameproject.



Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:




  • Bachelor of Science from a 4-year university with course work in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and/or heat transfer
  • 4 years of experience relating to design of fluid thermal systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities
  • 2 years of experience relating to the design or operation of commercial Nuclear Power Plants
  • Experience evaluating and/or specifying pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and turbines.
  • Working knowledge of ASME and ANSI codes/standards.
  • Preparation of specifications, calculations, and drawings for plant systems.
  • Good written and oral communication skills. Must have experience working in a Team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with the Nuclear Standard Design Process, and experience preparing engineering drawings including but not limited to vendor drawings, P&IDs, logic diagrams, instrument hookups, etc. for plant modification packages.
  • Field experience at an operating nuclear plant
  • Experience with AOV and/or MOV calculations is a plus
