Position Highlights |
The selected candidate will support research in ground and space-based telescopes. They will work closely with mechanical, software, and optical engineers to accomplish the goals of the principal investigator and their program. The Electrical Engineer will apply known electrical engineering theories and principles to design and build electronic systems to support research. This includes designing, fabricating, testing, and implementing electronic hardware to accomplish the goals of the principal investigator. The incumbent evaluates findings to develop new concepts, products, equipment, or processes, or to develop applications of findings to new uses.

Duties & Responsibilities |
- With communication and instruction from other engineers, the candidate will define problems as well as design and build electronics to meet requirements. The candidate must use electronic principles to solve electronic requirements. Work will include troubleshooting and solving power resistance to design and build circuits. This may include some simulation using programs such as PSpice. Knowledge of embedded programming is essential in this position.
- Implement complex high-speed circuit boards over the entire product cycle, including architecture, design, layout, test, and development.
- Develops firmware and hardware to include building, testing, and improving on firmware and hardware.
- Manage assembly and fabrication contracts, including electronic parts to assemble boards and working with board houses to get items ordered and built.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
