JOB SUMMARY This position is accountable for the safe and efficient operations of the various hot heading machines and for maintaining a clean, well - organized work area. As Shift Lead, the incumbent will act as liaison between shift employees and Supervisors/Managers, communicating problems and questions as they may arise on their shift. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operate heading machinery safely and productively. Assure that quality standards, inspections, and counts, meet job requirements. Utilize SAP and MII software to monitor proper workflow of production orders in department. Record use of consumable tools. Advise/recommend placement of workforce to appropriate machinery. Facilitate logical work assignments of operators / set up personnel. To available machinery. Act as liaison between shift employees and appropriate supervisor or manager, communicating problems and questions as they may arise. Shift Lead will be held responsible for productivity and performance standards of assigned departments. Assures that safety precautions are observed at all times including the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, ear protection (if applicable) and machine guards. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS PHYSICAL DEMANDS Manufacturing environment. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment; Ability to position self to move, install/takeout, adjust, position, measure, and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
