The Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis Job Description
Position Summary: The Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track position at the assistant teaching professor rank, to begin August 15, 2025, though a January 2025 start could be negotiated. We seek an energetic and enthusiastic individual who shares our dedication to excellent student-centered teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful applicant will join one of the largest and most dynamic departments at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The teaching position will support undergraduate and graduate coursework in the following areas of course focus: social psychology, stereotype and discrimination, and organizational behavior/group. The Department of Psychological Sciences has long been one of the College and campus' high performing departments in terms of teaching, research, and service. It is among the largest departments on campus both in terms of faculty and students; the latter spread over affiliated majors (i.e., BA/BS Psychological Sciences, Child Advocacy Studies), minors, multiple certificates (i.e., Child Advocacy Studies, Neuroscience, Trauma Studies), and graduate programs (i.e., PhD Clinical Psychology, MA & PhD in Psychological and Brain Sciences). Additionally, there are a host of training clinics and research centers that are affiliated with the Department (i.e., Community Psychological Service, Child Advocacy Center of Greater St. Louis, Center for Trauma Recovery, Center for Behavioral Health, Missouri Institute of Mental Health) and are in step with the university's mission of community engagement. We welcome applications from professionals who are ABD or have a Ph.D. in Social Psychology, Social/Cognitive/Affective Neuroscience, Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline within the field. Successful applicants will demonstrate experience and capacity to engage students from both traditional and non-traditional educational trajectories. Responsibilities of this position include a teaching load of four courses per semester with in-person and online modalities, advising undergraduate students, and participating in departmental and faculty governance. Areas of teaching for this position could include, but are not limited to, social psychology, stereotype and discrimination, and organizational behavior/group. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor applicants for this position for employment visas. Qualifications
