Open-Rank Tenure-Track Faculty Position, Cornell University - ORIE Ithaca Campus

Cornell University's School of Operations Research and Information Engineering (ORIE) seeks to fill multiple open-rank tenure-track faculty positions for its Ithaca campus. We welcome strong applicants in all areas of operations research, both methodological and application-driven, especially in healthcare, supply chain management, optimization, artificial intelligence, or data science.

Requisite is a strong interest in the broad mission of the School, exceptional potential for leadership in research and education, an ability and willingness to teach at all levels of the program, and a PhD in operations research, mathematics, statistics, or a related field by the start of the appointment. Salary will be appropriate to qualifications and engineering school norms.

Cornell ORIE is a diverse group of high-quality researchers and educators interested in probability, optimization, statistics, machine learning, simulation, game theory, and a wide array of applications such as health care, e-commerce, supply chains, scheduling, manufacturing, transportation systems, financial engineering, service systems and network science. We value mathematical and technical depth and innovation, and experience with applications and practice. Ideal candidates will have correspondingly broad training and interests.

The hiring offer for this position is $79,400 to $329,600 depending on education, experience, discipline {for academics} and relevant skills. The pay range reflects a 9-month duration, which will be paid out over 12 months.

Pay Range:

$76,200.00 - $211,000.00

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.

  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.

  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)

  • Unique applicable skills.
