As a Senior Aerospace Engineer, you will:

A week in the life of a Senior Aerospace Engineer:



  • Be the engineering lead in support of flight control system development; aircraft modeling and simulation; analysis of aircraft flight dynamics; and ground and flight test support.
  • Design, development, integration, and test of aircraft flight control systems and autopilots
  • Develop, integrate, and validatemodels of aircraft flight dynamics and subsystems such as payloads, engines, transmissions, flight control components, and sensors
  • Support lab, ground, and flight qualification testing of aircraft avionics, sensors, and flight control systems
  • Mentormore junior engineers


JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Active or theability to obtain a SECRET security clearance after hiring (requiresUS Citizenship)
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering
  • At least 7years of experience to include development and/or refinement of flight dynamics models; work with flight test data to include flight test support and flight data analysis, and/or familiarity with aircraft performance, aerodynamic design, non-linear system identification, and flight control system design and analysis.
  • Excellent documentation and report writing skills are essential for this position.
  • Knowledge of sound engineering practices that may include such areas as requirement tracking, configuration control, technical communication, and/or the peer review process.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is$120,000-$190,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
