SUMMARY

This position provides educationally related mental health services, consultation, behavioral support and management, and school community engagement at the direction of the contracted educational or childcare entity and its personnel for the purpose of serving the entity's students and their families. This may include individual and group services as well as creating and implementing presentations and workshops. This position works during the designated school/contract year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports and promotes the mission of the Agency: Foothill Family empowers children and families on their journey to achieve personal success.
  • Provides high quality, compassionate and ethical services as contracted to the entity's students and their families.
  • Manages own caseload and tasks appropriately balancing both assigned contract entity's requirements and that of the Agency.
  • Meets the contract requirements for the types of services and deliverables expected by the contract entity.
  • Provides direct service to child and adolescent students, their families, and entity personnel, and works in close collaboration with designated administrators and personnel.
  • Completes all documentation as required by the contract and the assigned entity, and where there is no specific contract requirement, does so in accordance with Agency policies.
  • Ensures documentation meets quality assurance, compliance, scope of practice and billing requirements independent of supervisory review.
  • Keeps abreast of and adheres to all legal and ethical standards, Agency policies and procedures, and applicable entity and/or school site protocols
  • Assists accounting in the collection of complete and accurate information necessary for any invoice and billing.
  • Attends all required Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings as directed by the entity. Prepares for and actively participates in these meetings to assist the assigned entity personnel in developing comprehensive and effective IEPs for students.
  • Drives to schools, program sites, etc. to provide services, presentations or workgroups and meet with clients, families or school personnel.
  • Attends in-person meetings and events at various locations within the Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.
  • Displays sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomics characteristics.
  • Performs work in a safe manner at all times and ensures that other individuals do not put themselves or others at risk.
  • Follows all Agency and assigned entity guidelines on confidentiality, reporting of child abuse and neglect, and recording in case records.
  • Follows all policies, procedures and legal mandates including HIPAA, client releases of information, protected health information (PHI) and client files.
  • Ensures performance and behaviors support the Agency's performance quality improvement (PQI) goals and objectives.
  • Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist registration in the State of California required.
  • Master's degree from accredited social work, marriage and family therapy, or psychology program.
  • Experience in providing direct service to individuals, families and groups.
  • Experience in providing child abuse treatment.
  • Experience in providing treatment to children with serious emotional problems.
  • Ability to effectively use of DSM V.
  • Good computer skills. Ability to navigate Foothill Family's EHRS and that of the assigned District.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
  • Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural differences.
  • An understanding of child development, as well as individual and family functioning.
  • Valid CA Driver License (and 2 years of driving experience after receiving license) and maintains insurability on the Agency's Auto-liability policy and maintains the State of California required auto insurance liability limits.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills required.
