The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in California's Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems. In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Supervisor to lead our QC technician. You will be responsible for the daily management of all inspection activities, overseeing the CMM/Metrology Lab, driving quality system improvements, and resolving internal and external quality issues. This role requires a proactive leader dedicated to maintaining the highest quality standards and fostering a "Quality First" culture.

Core Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Development



  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of quality control technicians (ICQC, IPQC, FQC, test, and CMM).
  • Manage daily work assignments, scheduling, timecards, and training to ensure production and quality goals are met.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set clear objectives, and provide regular feedback to foster employee development.
  • Lead hiring, on boarding, and training your new team members.
  • Actively participate in the daily 7:30 AM production meeting to address quality issues and coordinate with the manufacturing team.


2. Quality Systems & Compliance



  • Support to maintain and improve the site Quality Management System (QMS), including the NCR and CAPA systems, to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Support the internal audit program, document findings, and drive the timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for quality issues on the production floor, inspections, CMM lab, and leading containment actions and long-term actions.
  • Track and report inspection log book and key performance indicators (KPIs) including First Pass Yield (FPY) , Defect rate, NCR, and scrap and rework rates, to drive continuous improvement projects.


3. CMM & Metrology Lab Management



  • Manage the daily workflow, machine utilization, and prioritization of the CMM inspection lab.
  • Ensure all metrology equipment is maintained and calibrated in compliance with QMS requirements.
  • Oversee the development, validation, and maintenance of CMM programs.
  • Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R activities, CMM service time, and CMM program runtime.


4. Supplier & Customer Quality



  • Serve as a key point of contact for mangers, QEs, and customers on quality inspection issues, escalations, and audits.
  • Coordinate with QEs to lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA/8D) for customer escapes.
  • Support QEs for the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process, working with suppliers to ensure effective problem resolution as needed.
  • Coordinated with QEs to plan, schedule, and lead customer audits to assess QMS compliance and process controls if needed.


Required Qualifications & Experience



  • Experience: 6+ years in a quality role within a manufacturing environment AND 4+ years in a direct management/supervisory role (managing 15+ employees).
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (16 years)
  • Technical Knowledge: Good to Strong knowledge to sheet metal fabrication, welding, and electromechanical integration.
  • GD&T: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Quality Tools: Strong knowledge of quality tools such as RMA/DMR, FMEA, Control Plans, CAPA, 8D, 5 Whys, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with CMM operation, hard check, and programming (e.g., Calypso, PC-DMIS) and experience with MSA/Gage R&R.
  • Communication: Proven experience communicating directly with engineers, auditors, customers, and suppliers on quality issues.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience performing internal audits to ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies (Green/Black Belt a plus).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, Agile).
  • Strong hands-on experience with CMM operation and programming (e.g., Calypso, PC-DMIS) and experience with MSA/Gage R&R.

Salary Range (annual): $80,000 - $110,000. Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.
