POSITION SUMMARY This position is assigned to FFG PMO and the staff of the Technical Director, FFG Non-Construction Projects, under the Senior Director of Production and Program Integration. The Class Design Services (CDS) Project Engineer will provide technical support to multiple cross-functional teams comprising a variety of Engineering disciplines in determining the requirements of technical studies of interest to the Navy customer or Engineering Change Proposals (ECP). As such, this position will assign technical resources, provide input to project timelines, support outsourcing plans by producing statements of work, identify the configuration items affected, effects on performance allocations and interfaces, impacts to manning/training, software/hardware upgrades, integrated logistics support and spares, and determine trade-offs and/or alternative solutions. This position will coordinate with the FMM Engineering Department and subcontractors to develop integrated, comprehensive technical packages that identify all scoping impacts. Attention to detail, in-depth knowledge of the baseline configuration, and the need to be thorough are all required attributes since they would have a significant bearing on timeliness, expense, and/or disruption to the organization. The individual is expected to have an ability to read, interpret, and clearly present complex information; interact with customers, partners, and colleagues; listen well; keep the PMO Change Manager well-informed; and, resolve issues identified by stakeholders. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
