Position Highlights |
The Department of Surgery, University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is seeking an outstanding, academic-minded, tenure track (T/TE) Pediatric Surgeon. Our children's surgical team prides itself on providing world-class, comprehensive, and compassionate care for children. The position offered includes opportunities to aid and participate in the development and expansion of the fetal surgery clinical and research programs. This is the only such program in Arizona or the Southwest. In addition to this Fetal Surgery opportunity, there is also an opportunity for a faculty with interest in developing an academic research career, including basic science, translational, or outcomes research. Becoming a part of the existing Pediatric Surgery research program offers the opportunity to develop one's own research projects and program using the extensive mentorship, collaborations, and resources available in Pediatric Surgery, the Department of Surgery and the surrounding academic environment of the College of Medicine, University of Arizona undergraduate and graduate programs. Candidates must be highly motivated self-starters, who will forge collegial and collaborative relationships with the many individuals and services and researchers who interact with the Pediatric Surgery division. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Teaching and mentoring residents and medical students.
- Develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program.
- Provide expert team-oriented clinical care to Pediatric Surgery patients.
- Perform clinical and surgical procedures.
- Actively
participate in internal and external committees, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor
- Hold an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent medical degree.
- Arizona medical license or eligible to obtain.
- Meet UArizona criteria for appointment to a
tenure eligible faculty position.

Preferred Qualifications |
- The ideal candidate will have interests in either research, basic science, or fetal surgery.
