The University of Arizona is inviting qualified applicants to apply for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate I, in the laboratory of Wei Wang in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology within the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Develop new reagents and reactions; design, synthesize and characterize organic molecules.
- Design and synthesize functional chemical probes for study of mechanism of actions, molecular imaging and drug discovery.
- Participate and present research results and literature in group meetings and department seminars.
- Write manuscripts for publication and present results at conferences.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of organic synthesis and experimental design.
- Knowledge of compound purification and characterization.
- Knowledge of biochemical and cellular assays.
- Knowledge of biological imaging.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to conduct research independently.

Minimum Qualifications |
- PhD from an accredited college or university in Pharmaceutics, Medicinal Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or a related field.
- Strong background in Pharmaceutics/Medicinal Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Proved records (e.g., publications) in organic synthesis and/or medicinal chemistry.
