The College of Pharmacy is ranked 4th nationally in NIH funding. Applicants whose research interests are in longevity and related neurodegenerative diseases are encouraged to apply. The incumbent will join a department with current research strength in multiple areas of pharmacology, toxicology, medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutics including drug discovery efforts for Alzheimer's and other age-related neurodegenerative diseases.

The Arizona Center for Drug Discovery and the new Coit Center for Longevity and Neurotherapeutics have been established in the College of Pharmacy. The overall mission of the new Longevity Center is to accelerate an understanding of aging, longevity and/or neuronal health as well as foster efforts to develop new opportunities for prevention and drug discovery in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS, and others. Additional areas of interest include modeling diseases with iPSC and/or animal models, drug discovery towards age-related diseases, innovative application of artificial intelligence in aging and neurodegeneration. Candidates with research efforts on Rapamycin and other longevity therapeutics are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have an outstanding record of research accomplishments and are expected to develop an active extramurally-funded research program. Generous start-up packages and ample collaborative opportunities are available.

Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans; life insurance and disability programs; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; retirement plans; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!
