The Department of Social Work & Sociology invites applications for Part-Time Instructors for fall 2024 or summer 2024. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach Sociology courses.
The successful candidate is expected to teach introductory and advanced level courses by the Department of Social Work & Sociology. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teach face-to-face and/or online, attend training and/or review sessions. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to, academic advising of students, supporting student organizations, participating in program development and assessment. The candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in the department and university. |

Through the study of sociology and social work, students gain access to concrete skills that are relevant to a broad range of rewarding careers. These skills enhance the student's ability to assess new and unfamiliar situations, to select and apply qualitative and/or quantitative techniques in solving practical problems in creative ways, and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. All majors are required to take courses in Sociology, Statistics, Sociological Theory and Research.
The Department offers bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Social Work, a master's degree in Social Work and a Ph.D. in Social Work.

Candidates must have a Master's degree in Sociology at time of appointment. |

Candidates with 1-3 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level are preferred. |
