Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
This position is responsible for independently providing consultation, program administration, expertise and high-level management & coordination of pre-awards and post-award financial operations for the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences (
HCHHS).
Faculty in their ongoing efforts to secure and execute external grants - including providing pre-awards proposal assistance and post-award contractual and budgetary services to Principal Investigators (PIs) for awarded grants, contracts and agreements.
This position plans, analyzes and organizes daily activities, manages data, and processes various employment documents. This position confers and collaborates with the Division of Research and Economic Development (
DORED) to ensure budgets and expenditures are within guidelines of the appropriate funding agencies' policies and regulations, and the
HCHHS.
This position collaborates with the
HCHHS leadership team members and faculty to optimize College proposal submissions and award-related processes and procedures; and manages an electronic filing system of documents prepared for PIs. |

The John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences (
HCHHS) comprises six departments and the School of Nursing. The
HCHHS offers the following undergraduate degree programs; Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health Services Management, Kinesiology, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology. At the graduate level,
HCHHS offers six graduate degree programs including the Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (PA program), Master of Social Work (
MSW), Master of Science in Health Psychology, PhD in Social Work, PhD in Applied Psychology, and Doctor of Nurse Practice (
DNP). The
HCHHS is also home to the Center of Excellence in Integrative Health Disparities and Equity Research (
CIHDER), a hub for multidisciplinary research and community engagement efforts to alleviate health inequities. The
HCHHS capitalizes on the synergistic relationships between these departments to develop advanced academic programming, enhance the mentoring of trainees, and conduct collaborative multidisciplinary research and scholastic activity. |
Minimum Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related
business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees
must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |

Knowledge of computers including the Excel and PowerPoint, and electronic research administration including submission portals such as
NIH
ASSIST, grants.gov and
NSF Fastlane Knowledge of federal, state, and university grant programs that support research, instruction and public service across disciplines and their submission process.
