Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is excited to offer a potential career opportunity for an Outpatient Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. Job Requirements:

    Licensure: Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted LCSW license from any state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Education: Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a nationally accredited school.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of recent clinical experience
  • Credentialing and Privileging: Must undergo credentialing and privileging as per VA standards; services cannot commence until these processes are complete.
  • Medical and Immunization Requirements: Must meet health and immunization requirements, including screenings for tuberculosis, rubella, and vaccinations for influenza, among others.
  • Training: Required training includes:
    • CPR and basic life support (BLS) certifications.
    • Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification for some roles.
    • Mandatory VA-specific training on privacy, security, and various healthcare protocols.

Job Responsibilities for Outpatient LCSW

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and document findings.
  • Evaluate and manage suicide risks, mental health crises, and provide crisis intervention.
  • Develop and document safety plans and care plans in the patient's medical record.
  • Facilitate the completion of Advanced Directives and assess needs for inpatient psychiatric care.
  • Provide information and resources, assist with transportation, and coordinate family and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Engage in discharge planning, including referrals to various healthcare and social services.
  • Conduct emergency interventions as necessary and participate in case management post-discharge.
