GTRI's Cooperative Education ("co-op") program offers you extensive opportunities to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, use state-of-the-art equipment and rapidly improve your technical and leadership skills. The program allows you to alternate three semesters of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school.

GTRI's Advanced Concepts Laboratory(ACL) is seeking motivated co-op students who are interested in learning about electromagnetics while working alongside teams of research engineers tackling challenging and exciting problems for Spring 2025. In this position, you will learn to measure antennas and characterize electromagnetic materials. As a co-op student, you will spend much of your time in ACL's laboratories, helping to design, set up, and execute measurements. You will collect data and process it under the guidance of experienced research engineers and will then communicate the results to research teams. By the end of your co-op rotations, you will have an excellent understanding of how to design and perform state-of-the-art electromagnetic measurements and good feel for how we design electromagnetic structures and materials.

Co-op

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics
• 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
• Experience with Matlab, python, or another scripting language
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing
• Must be eligible to be approved by your college/university to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with your university during work terms
• Must be able to complete at least three full-time co-op terms (alternating three terms of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school) prior to graduation

• Coursework in electromagnetics theory and applications

40 hours per week

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
