About the Position

Dexis is recruiting for a Know Your Customer (KYC) Analyst to support the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), America's development finance institution. This position is located in the Office of Small Business and Financial Services (OSBFS) of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). DFC is America's development finance institution. DFC partners with the private sector to finance and insure solutions to the most critical challenges facing the developing world today. OSBFS's work involves providingfunding through direct loans and loan guarantees. Support provided by the Corporation ultimately assists the entire range of business organizations from sole proprietorships to small and medium businesses with large-scale projects involving multiple parties.

The KYC Analyst conducts know your customer ("KYC") analysis; and (2) assists investment officers with researching and preparing reports on economic and political environments in foreign countries, reviewing new applications for financing, drafting due diligence and other documentation necessary for underwriting, commitment and disbursement, including buildingcomplex financial models and financial analysis for projects, as well as performing other supportfunctions for the Department and larger agency as needed.


Responsibilities

  • Conducts KYC analysis, which may include but is not limited to the following duties:

    • Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) research to verify and authenticate customeridentities, understand customer profiles, and assess associated risks.
    • Analyze data from a variety of sources including but not limited to data aggregatorscontracted by DFC, public records, open source databases, business records, social media,press releases, and other online platforms to support KYC due diligence.
    • Evaluate customer information for potential red flags indicative of money laundering,terrorist financing, fraud, or other illicit activities, and escalate findings according to establishedprotocols.
    • Prepare analytical reports, summaries, and briefings outlining research findings, riskassessments, and - working with DFC deal teams -- recommendations for potential mitigationsteps and decisions concerning whether and under what circumstances DFC should enter intobusiness relationships with potential counterparties.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the integrity of the KYCprocess and adherence to relevant AML regulations and guidelines.
    • Participate in the development and refinement of KYC compliance procedures,incorporating best practices for open-source research and data analysis.
    • Provide guidance and training to junior analysts and other department staff on OSINTmethodologies and compliance standards.
    • Maintain a current understanding of U.S. federal regulations and compliance requirementsand international standards related to AML and KYC, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USAPATRIOT Act, and other pertinent directives.
    • Ensure that all research activities are conducted in a manner that protects individual privacyand complies with information security policies.
    • Assist in responding to inquiries from external parties as required.


  • Assists investment officers in preparation of internal approval documents (Screening, CreditCommittee, Investment Committee and Board papers).
  • Researches and drafts written narratives of the economic and political environment in theforeign countries where proposed projects are located.
  • Completes project risk scorecards and subsidy calculations.
  • Prepares requests to Credit Policy group for spreading of financial statements fromborrowers and sponsors.
  • Reviews and develops complex financial models in Excel to evaluate creditworthiness ofpotential borrowers.
  • Assists investment officers with processing requests for proposals for outside consultantsand independent engineers that may be involved with a project.
  • Prepares country due diligence briefing materials prior to an overseas trip by a projectteam.
  • Assists investment officers by obtaining signatures from other departments for credit actionsand other documentation.
  • Creates PowerPoint and Excel charts used by investment officers in various approvalprocesses and presentation materials.
  • Uses DFC's official workflow and data portal to support origination tasks.
  • Handles transfer of federal records from departmental electronic folders to DFC's officialfiling system.
  • Arranges, prepares for and participates in meetings and calls involving differentstakeholders related to business development and project underwriting and execution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, intelligence studies, international business/studies, internationalrelations, finance, business, economics, or political science, or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret or Public Trust.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.

Below is the pay range aligned with this position. When developing a range, Dexis evaluates compensation holistically, triangulating between external market research, our budget for the position, and internal equity to arrive at a figure that is fair and competitive. Offers within this range will be based on an individual candidate's qualification, relevant education and experience, skills, performance, and organizational needs.

Dexis pay range for this role:
$85,000 $100,000 USD
