JOB OVERVIEW:

Product Manager for Blue Diamond Growers Connect Marketplace (GCM) will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of this innovative Marketplace platform. The Marketplace is a start-up initiative designed to bring lower prices to Blue Diamond growers by leveraging collective purchasing power and scale.

The Product Manager will lead efforts to design, develop, and optimize the platform while ensuring a seamless user experience for growers and suppliers. Additionally, this role will partner with finance to address tax exemptions and ensure site profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Customer Insights:

  • Understand the unique needs, behaviors, and pain points of Blue Diamond growers to inform platform features and user experience.

  • Engage with growers to collect feedback and ensure the marketplace meets their expectations and delivers tangible value.

Product Strategy:

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Grower Connect Marketplace, focusing on scaling purchases to deliver cost savings.

  • Prioritize features and initiatives that maximize grower benefits, drive adoption, and support business objectives.

  • Define the necessary category management and related taxonomy to effectively develop and extend the marketplace product catalog

  • Point of contact and project leader for all major initiatives.

Market Analysis:

  • Analyze trends in agricultural procurement and e-commerce platforms to identify growth opportunities and competitive advantages.
  • Monitor supplier offerings and market dynamics to ensure the marketplace remains relevant and beneficial to growers.

Supplier Engagement:

  • Partner with Procurement and Legal to negotiate agreements with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and product availability.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers to enhance marketplace offerings and foster mutual growth.

Finance Partnership:

  • Collaborate with finance teams to address tax exemption requirements, ensuring compliance, proper processing and efficiency for grower transactions.
  • Monitor and manage site profitability by aligning pricing strategies, supplier agreements, and operational costs with financial goals.

Collaboration:

  • Partner with internal teams (supply chain, IT, marketing, and operations) and external vendors to develop and enhance the marketplace platform.
  • Ensure alignment across stakeholders on deliverables, timelines, and performance objectives.

Feature Development & Management:

  • Lead the development of core platform features, including supplier catalogs, bulk purchasing tools, and financial integrations.
  • Ensure the platform is scalable, user-friendly, and optimized for grower and supplier needs.

User Experience (UX) Optimization:

  • Work with UX/UI designers to deliver an intuitive and engaging browser and mobile-based interface for growers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform's usability, performance, and seamless integration.
  • Conduct user testing and implement feedback to refine features and improve adoption rates.

Marketing & Adoption:

  • Own marketing efforts to promote the Grower Connect Marketplace, focusing on increasing grower participation and supplier engagement.
  • Develop campaigns and promotions that emphasize the platform's cost-saving benefits and ease of use.

Revenue Growth & Cost Savings:

  • Drive marketplace adoption to scale transactions and deliver lower costs to growers through bulk purchasing.
  • Identify additional revenue opportunities, such as premium supplier listings, advertising, or enhanced services.
  • Participate in the identification and prioritization of product, platform, market and/or service innovations to protect and grow existing revenue streams and to grow new revenues for assigned products and services.

Performance Tracking & Iteration:

  • Analyze KPIs such as grower participation, transaction volume, cost savings, and profitability to assess platform success.
  • Use data insights to refine features, supplier relationships, and marketing strategies to continually enhance the marketplace.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years experience in e-commerce product management, supplier negotiations, and financial collaboration with a focus on ensuring tax compliance and profitability.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills are essential for driving platform growth and adoption while delivering value to growers and suppliers alike.
  • Strong comprehension of Ecommerce Platforms and ability to measure results.
  • Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions across the platform.
  • Proven experience in prioritizing tasks, projects, and strategic goals.
  • Must have a clear vision of a product and platform objectives and be able to maintain a long-term view
  • Will consider a remote option

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP Commerce Cloud and Mirakl Marketplace is a plus
