PAY RANGE - $59k - 73K

Shift - M to F 7am to 330pm



GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials, services, and supplies. Contacts supplier, secures bids, and reviews quotes with department head before placing orders. Expedites wide variety of orders by suppliers to meet production needs. Purchases complex/large impact materials, equipment, supplies, and services, at the most economical cost, and for delivery at the time and location specified in the purchase requisition. Locates and evaluates suppliers, forecasts and reports procurement trends, negotiates, and administrates contracts. Manages daily purchase order process for assigned group.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

* 4 years degree in related field AND one year of buying experience; OR, four years of buying/ supply management experience

* Written and verbal fluency in Japanese and English

* Excel skills and organizational skills experience

* Ability to manage and evaluate quality of service.

* Ability to negotiate fairly and use an analytical approach.

* Knowledge of commodity management such as raw materials, electrical components, MRO and services.

* Knowledge of import/export process and requirements.

* Must be eligible to work in an ITAR environment

* Travel may be up to 10%.

* Manage invoice discrepancies and Return to Vendor issues

* SAP experience preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Maintains Supplier Management relationships daily with suppliers.
  2. Communicates with suppliers the expected delivery timeframe of products and services. Relates key information to production and any internal customers.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (email and phone).
  4. Negotiates materials and services for best value daily, may provide multiple quotes.
  5. Manages backlogs to ensure on-time delivery.
  6. Responsible for procurement business data input and integrity of information. May double check invoices and purchase requisition content daily.
  7. Develops and manages the sourcing cycle process for services and materials.
  8. Accurate entry in SAP is critical. Responds to requisitions and department leaders as needed for delivery or changes.
  9. Develops and maintains Supplier relationships, contract administration, quoting process, PO follow through, and supply chain. May negotiate contracts and with legal team.
  10. Orders products and authorizes payment in a timely manner.
  11. Generates and ensures accuracy of purchase orders.
  12. Addresses and reports critical supply chain problems.


Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
