Following the Illinois State Statute, the Board of Fire and Police Commission hires certified candidates ahead of non-certified candidates. Lateral Candidates: Must complete the following to be considered and move forward in the hiring process:
Starting salary (dependent on qualifications): $80,472 - $97,860 based on a 40-hour work week. Qualifications:
A waiver to the educational requirement (Bachelor's Degree) shall be considered under any of the following circumstances:
Any candidate granted a waiver must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
