STATUS: Non-Exempt / Full-time

BASIC PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to work cooperatively in a team to teach and assist in daycare duties at the Booth Childcare Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Daily planning and execution of all classroom and outdoor activities (lesson plan).
  2. Preparing a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean and appealing, which allows children to grow and explore, including setting up the physical environment to meet the changing needs of the children.
  3. Interacting with children and encouraging their involvement in activities.
  4. Establishing and maintaining good communication with parents daily.
  5. Supervising children in the bathroom.
  6. Mealtime and naptime duties, including setting up and cleaning before and after activities.
  7. Maintaining observation records daily on each child.
  8. Maintain and build children working folders
  9. Maintain evidence of learning throughout the classroom.
  10. Provide Appropriate and positive discipline to the child.
  11. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
  12. A love of children and an ability to work with them.
  13. An understanding of developmental stages and an ability to create age-appropriate activities.
  14. Ability to oversee both small and large groups of children at the same time.
  15. General knowledge of nutrition, health and first aid.
  16. Good command of the English language, both written and oral. AA/BS degree prefer, or presently working toward either degree with an Individual education plan.
  17. Up to date immunizations.
  18. Have 24 units in Early Childhood Education or presently enrolled in classes. Applicant will agree to complete the requirements to obtain an Instructional Permit within mandated time.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Ability to operate under stressful working conditions in a rapidly changing work environment with multiple priorities is required.



  1. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
