Energy Transfer is looking for an experienced server support professional with an eye towards the future with automation technologies. The position is a hands on technical role within the Infrastructure Services Server Operations team. Qualified candidates will have an immediate impact utilizing past experience, current solution sets and tools to continue support of the current environment. Also, the qualified candidate should be able to closely collaborate with team members, other IT teams and customers to help develop robust, well organized plans to implement solutions within short time-frames with minimal risk and interruption of service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help maintain and monitor all enterprise Veeam Backup and Recovery servers and jobs in all domains - Supporting other team members with all Veeam administrative functions to ensure all backups are successful - Monitoring and maintaining all enterprise servers in all domains - Support all file services, backups and server patching efforts - Architecting solutions for process improvement - Automating and/or writing/editing scripts to automate job functions - Cross-training other team members, sharing information with others, documenting all processes - Supporting other team members with various administrative functions and troubleshooting efforts - Participate in the on-call rotation - Part of BCP team for disaster recovery - Working incidents, tasks, change requests and server new builds assigned to team - Troubleshooting issues to resolution - Team liaison with other IT teams - Take ownership and lead the assigned projects technically
Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Ability to handle multiple workloads at the same time/multi-task
- 5+ years experience with supporting or using Veeam Backup and Recovery or other related backup technologies - 5+ years experience with supporting large enterprise server environments - 5+ years experience with scripting tools, such as PowerShell, reading and writing scripts - 3 to 5 years experience with SCOM or other monitoring tool such as SolarWinds - 3 to 5 years experience with SCCM, specifically server patching and reporting - Experience working with SQL and writing SQL queries, specifically relating to SCCM and Veeam - Experience with automation technologies such as Puppet, Ansible/Tower and RPA , etc - Working knowledge of Printer Logic, Double Take, CipherTrust, ServiceNow, Graylog, Grafana, FTP, DFS, AD 2019, Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019 and 2022, SharePoint, working with Secure Networks, file server replacements, server and data migrations and server decommissions - - Great customer service skills and willingness to cross-train with others
- Be a team player and willing to work in small to large groups as needed - Be a self-starter, ambitious, creative thinker, doesn't except status quo and always looking at ways to continue to move the group forward
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Senior IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
- The Principal IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years of relevant job related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Business Continuity Plans (disaster recovery plans)
- Experience with VMWare/virtual environments
- Experience with other backup technologies
- Experience with Beyond Trust least privilege user scenario
- Experience with Application packaging for servers
- Experience with RedHat Linux P
- Project management experience or certification a plus
Working Conditions:

- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
