Overview The Hope Tower Part Time Integrative Health Medicine Nurse Practitioner utilizes the patient-centered coordinated care model demonstrated through the following competencies: leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. Works collaboratively with other practice/hospital team members to assess, plan and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. Integrative health medicine experience required. Part Time position of (2) 10 hrs days. Preference for experience in adult medical/integrative medicine oe integrative medicine education through an accredited program. Responsibilities
- Address the whole person in an integrative practice looking for the root cause of symptoms, while evaluating the 5 pillars of Health and Well-Being; Sleep, Nutrition, Activity, Resilience, and Purpose.
- Listen deeply to the patient's history, and look for interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health..
- Demonstrates the ability to manage and design programs that optimize well-being and support patient-centered, holistic non-pharmacological approaches to symptom and disease management.
- Recognized as a progressive leader in holistic nursing, integrative health/medicine, & mind-body medicine.
- Performs clinical care professionally, serving as a customer advocate and role model.
- Clinical practice accurately reflects NJ Board of Medical Examiners regulations, the Code of Ethics, NJ Department of Health requirements, and HMH policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement the appropriate plan of care-interdisciplinary integrative services
- Facilitates patient teaching and support programs for patients/ and employers
- Evaluates current protocols and standards of care for translation of "best practice" into clinical practice. Supports the development of evidence-based practice protocols and standards of care that include
- interventions and treatments to achieve desired outcomes.
- Applies evidence and value-based practices to achieve positive outcomes for patients.
- Initiates laboratory tests, immunizations, and diagnostic tests/procedures, interprets results, and makes treatment protocols, including supplementation.
- Demonstrates competent clinical skills with treatment plans using the most effective screening test or procedure.
- Collaborates with physician and consults effectively with other members of the health care team
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem-solving.
- Provides accurate, systematic, and organized documentation of findings, recommendations/plans, and education.
- Independently participates in continuing education and maintains documentation. Develop a personal clinical expertise development plan, conferring with the leader on goals and objectives.
- Provides culturally diverse and educationally appropriate education to patient care/needs.
- Serves as a clinical resource to nursing staff, patients, and other multidisciplinary team members across the continuum to evaluate complex patients and identify appropriate interventions and evaluation of outcomes.
- Participates in policy/procedure reviews for updating current evidence-based and value-based practices
- Acts as a resource to staff for addressing clinical, process, and system improvement opportunities, promoting excellence in care and clinical outcomes.
- Promotes a collaborative work environment that supports the organizational mission, behavior expectations, and values.
- Promotes innovation within clinical practice by seeking opportunities to bring new clinical knowledge into practice.
- Identifies ethical care issues and coordinates interdisciplinary collaborative meetings to resolve those issues.
- Floats to various clinic locations as needed.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications Knowledge, Education, and Skills Required:
- Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing
- Master's Degree
- Integrative Health and Medicine and/or functional medicine training.
- HeartMath trainer or willing to work towards certification.
- Maintains clinical competencies through participating in continuing educational programs (contact hours per year), and clinical practice as mandated by the Board of Nursing and the national certification body.
- Experience in relevant patient care settings or as regulations dictate.
Knowledge, Education, and Skills Preferred:
- Master's Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
- Membership in pertinent holistic nursing and integrative health professional organizations.
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities
- Valid Driver's license
Required Certification/Licensing:
- Current valid, unencumbered NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license.
- Maintains certification as an APN in New Jersey.
- Maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support HCP certification.
Preferred Certification/Licensing:
- HeartMath certification preferred
