General & Trauma Surgeons Job Summary

Under minimal supervisor the Breast Surgery Physician specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of breast conditions, including breast cancer. The physician is responsible for performing diagnostic procedures, such as mammograms and biopsies, as well as performing surgical procedures to treat breast conditions; additionally, the physician provides post-operative care for patients.

Essential Functions:
  • Conducts diagnostic procedures, such as mammograms and biopsies, to identify and diagnose breast conditions. (20%)
  • Performs surgical procedures to treat breast conditions, such as breast cancer, benign breast tumors, and breast reconstruction. (40%)
  • Provides post operative care and follow up care for patients, including monitoring for complications and providing recommendations for future treatment. (10%)
  • Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support throughout the treatment process. (10%)
  • Collaborates with medical professionals, such as oncologists and radiologists, to provide comprehensive care for patients. (15%)
  • Keeps detailed records of patients' medical history, treatment, and outcomes. (5%)

Education:
  • Doctorate Degree Required

Work Experience:

    Licenses:
    • MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required
    • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
    • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
    • Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
    • Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
    • Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
    • Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
    • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Computer skills required.
    • Computer skills preferred.

    $294,600.00 - $370,300.00 / yr
